Vladimir A. Mau

Vladimir Mau is a well-known Russian economist, whose interests encompass the history of Russian economic science and economic reforms, as well as the history and theory of economic policy and the political economy.

He graduated from the Russian Academy of National Economics (Plekhanov) in 1981, and completed postgraduate studies in 1986 at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was awarded doctoral degree in 1993. In 1999 he received a PhD in applied economics from the University of Pier Mendes in France.

In 2002, Mr. Mau became a President of the Academy of National Economics under the Russian Government.

He is a member of the editorial staff of the following journals: Economy Affairs, European bulletin, Georgian Science Academy bulletin, Journal of Economic Transition (USA), Russian Entrepreneurship.
